How to add a custom domain to your Mastera site

Created by Nathan Ellwood, Modified on Fri, 19 Mar, 2021 at 4:35 PM by Nathan Ellwood

Step 1: Login to your Mastera account and navigate to Edit Website - Domain and select Custom Domain. There, you will see the following information:

Record: CNAME

Host: @

Value: themastera.com (if yours has cx1, cx2, or cx3 in front of the web address, copy the whole value from your domain area)

Step 2: Open your domain hosting account - something like GoDaddy, Squarespace, or one of the many other providers online. Select the domain you want to use and look for something that says ‘Manage DNS’ or ‘Add DNS records.’

Step 3: Click ‘add new record’ and add the domain from your Mastera dashboard under ‘points to.’ In the ‘host’ section, you can add whatever you want your domain to be.

If it is just your domain as is, like ‘irongym.com,’ simply add an @ in the ‘host’ section. See below:

If you want a subdomain, like ‘virtual.irongym.com,’ you will just need to add the prefix to the ‘host’ section. See below.

Step 4: Add your domain under the ‘custom domain’ area in Mastera and hit ‘Save.’

Then, contact us at support@mastera.com to finish securing your domain and you’ll be good to go!
