Attributes

Attributes are the first thing you can configure under Settings. These will either be added manually by you or imported from the software you are integrating with.

Some attributes will be the same for all accounts, such as first_name, last_name, email, and phone. While others, such as member_status or membership_name will be configured differently based on which software you integrate with.

For this example, we will use ‘status,’ which in this case is used to show which customers are active. In order to see what your other options are, you will need to click on the icon with three bars next to the ‘status’ attribute.

When you click on the three bars (or hamburger menu), it will open up a box with the options for what status equals (such as status = active). If you aren’t seeing these options, click the blue words that say ‘Generate Options.’

As long as you are connected to your integration, the options will fill in after a few seconds. Then click ‘Create’ in order to save those options for later use.

How to use generated options:

Once you have added these under Configuration - Settings - Attributes, you will no longer need to use ‘is equal to,’ you can now use ‘is one of’ when creating a segment. See below.

Once you select ‘is one of,’ the third box will open the options. For example, if I wanted to create the segment of all active users, I would use “status is one of ‘active.’”

You can also select multiple options from this dropdown if you wanted to send to “status is one of ‘Suspended’ and ‘Expired.’

These will look different depending on your integration and the types of services you offer, but the process will be the same for generating options and creating segments.
